Default Where to purchase a new awning

I have a 2000 Pleasureway Lexor Model and I would like to add an awning. My research has led me to the Fiama F45S 12 feet long.

The best i can come up with for price is approximately $1,600 shipped from Orlando Florida to PEI, $500 of that being shipping cost.

The other alternative is Canam in Ontario $1,800 ($500 is shipping)

Can you tell me of another brand of awning in Canada? Or maybe a seller of used parts who may have an awning?

Thanks for reviewing, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info, Fiamma sent me a list of Canadian dealers and the cheapest was Canam that i posted about in my original comment, all others were higher cost.

There must be another brand to pick from in Canada i hope?

How about Thule, https://www.thule.com/en-us/van-accessories/awnings
I don't have much experience but had their roof rack box in Europe and quality was good.

Thule is reasonably popular on the Sprinter forum - https://sprinter-source.com/forums/i...threads/94438/

Shady Boy is a Canadian company. Different design, not as long (10’x6’ is the only size offered), and a bit more hands-on to set up, but stands up to wind and rain better, and significantly less money. Only 15# and the aluminum case is 4’ long, so can’t imagine it would be too expensive to ship. They sell factory direct.

for fiamma parts- GoWesty.com has been a been well priced source for me.

2.) have an awning and rarely use it, it seems any non-shady camping spots like at a beach are too windy for an awning

if I didn't have an awning on the van, I doubt I'd even bother to bring an ez-up

I think that you should consider how much you would use the awning to justify the price.

I have a 2000 PW Excel TD that I bought in March 2015. I have to say that I have NEVER used the awning. I am always afraid that the wind will pick up and rip the awning off the side of the camper.

Good luck with your search.

We don’t use our awning a lot but it is a must have for my wife so that alone makes it worthwhile for us. It is really nice to have in the rain of the Pacific Northwest as long as the wind isn’t too bad or the sun in the south.
