Default wax paper and double sided sticky tape 3m?

Hi
I seem to remember some info about Dometic door panels falling off and using double sided tape with wax paper to replace it /secure it???
Has anyone tried this,
I'm worried about the wax sticking to the tape, and then having a problem getting the failed tape off?
Thanks for any help and happy holidays
Michael

Were they using the wax paper as an adhesive preventer so they could get the panel positioned easier, and then pull out the wax paper to stick the panel in place?
If so, that might work but I would test the wax paper on the tape first to see if it transfers.

You can do the same thing with contact cement in a procedure that is commonly used for formica counter tops. Put contact cement on both the door and the panel and let it dry. Put a sheet of kraft paper over the door and set the panel in place. Slowly slide the paper out and roller down the panel to the door.

Either of the procedures will work much better if you take the door off and lay it down on a table horizontally.
