Default Noisy water pump

First thing to check is the water pump filter. They can get slimy and slow the flow, which results in sounds that you describe. Remove filter, clean and re install. This may solve your problem. I have done this twice over the years on 2 vans with positive results.

If you are referring to the mesh screen at the pump inlet, yes I have cleaned that out.

Default Other Option

The other option is to find a variable speed water pump. These pumps will run at different speeds depending on how much water is called for. So, when you open the faucet just a little, the water flows smoothly with a slower pump speed. This avoids the water hammer and the pulsing effect you get with a single speed pump on pressure control, which is how most RV set ups work. I have one of these on my boat and it works great. The pumps are more expensive however, and can be difficult to find. When my current pump gives up the ghost, that is what I'll be looking for in a replacement. They are much quieter and flow more smoothly at lower output.
