The Shur Flo fail point for us has been the contactor on the pressure switch. Installing an accumulator tank greatly reduces the number of cycles that the switch has to operate. That has to be a good thing. I know having an accumulator tank makes the coach nicer to live with.

I second the recommendation to install an accumulator in addition to the new pump. It will not only make pump noise less audible but also decreases the frequency at which the pump operates so on/off frequency is significantly reduced (bonus less wear on pump). There is a tire valve on the top of the accumulator so you can add air to your desired pressure. I set mine at 20 psi, check it once each year when doing the "start of season" checks. It has always maintained the set pressure over at least 16 years.
