Default Uncovering More Repairs

Ok, I'm back again for some fiberglass repair advice...

The seal on the front lip of the shell that hangs over the cab apparently has been leaking for a while and there's a large, inaccessible rust hole at the very front.

The best way I can think to get at it is to make cuts on both sides about where this red line is in order to fold the lip up and get at it from the front side where I can see the extent of the damage and repair it all:

The way they originally sealed it all up was idiotic and left a huge space between the outer sealant and the inner sealant/tape. Both went bad and the lip must have been leaking for years.

How would you guys go about getting under there and repairing all the rust?

It may be best to try and repair from the inside by removing the headliner. Most leaks are not directly from an area, water runs to the lowest point and could be coming from your running lights.
