Travato screen door
I was at an RV show yesterday and saw a screen door on a Travato that was curved to match the side all of the van. I would like to put one on my Sprinter and was wondering if anyone knows a supplier for these.
We looked all over the door for a name but were not successful in finding one.

Re: Travato screen door
I read that Advanced RV offered screen doors for other than their own Sprinters. I don't know if that information is current though.

Re: Travato screen door
Advanced will install one on your Sprinter if you make an appointment with them. But it is VERY expensive. Thousands....no joke

Re: Travato screen door
FredA is very familiar with Advanced RV's screens on other Bs.
Is the Travato screen a rollup like many house combination storm and screen doors have now?

Re: Travato screen door
I emailed Advance last month about a screen door for my Sprinter van and received this reply:
"We are sorry but our backlog of new Advanced-RV motor homes we are building for clients will consume our manufacturing resources far into 2015 and are not taking on screen door installation customization tasks. If things change, we will let you know."

Doesn't surprise me as they have become super busy since last year

Re: Travato screen door
I recently saw an Airstream Sprinter with a curved screen door. It looked like it could be easily adapted to most Sprinter models. Picture here:
http://www.airstream.com/touring-coache ... -tour-ext/
Unfortunately, a local dealer called Airstream and called me back. Airstream won't sell the door to anyone unless it goes in an Airstream. They want you to buy their top of the line model to get the door. I think the list was about $154k for the one I saw at the show. That is an expensive way to get a screen door!

Re: Travato screen door
The Travato screen door is a foldy type, not a rolly. As I've mentioned before, that nice curve makes it vulnerable to being pulled off the track if you grab the door too high up on the frame. The track guide parts on the door frame are plastic, but the frame and the tracks are metal. It really needs a handle or a sticker at the mid-point to remind people where to grab onto the door.
You can buy this part from Winnebago for $200-300. It's made for the Fiat Ducato, so I'm sure there are other suppliers. Winnebago doesn't make the door.
If you look closely at this pic, you can see the folds in the screen.

Re: Travato screen door
You might try this:
http://www.weatherguard.com/ca/en/vi...-Screens/88051
It looks to be the full door screen. I got a few hits googling "retractable RV screen"
Or you could just buy the part from Winnebago. Call Lichtsinn RV, their biggest dealer. Their parts dept should have an interactive catelogue on their computers and can figure it out.

Re: Travato screen door
Hello all,
I supply the sliding screen doors to Winnebago for the Travato (ProMaster) and Era (Sprinter) products. The product is integrated into Winnebago's builds so if you want the OEM look and feel it is best to buy them directly from Winnebago and let the dealer install them.
However, if there are a few brave souls who would like to tackle the installation themselves I'll ship a few out to forum members for free in exchange for product feedback and a step-by-step detail of your installation process. I've done dozens of installations so I can provide tech support, but I don't suggest volunteering unless you're pretty handy and have an assortment of tools available.
Below are some points to consider before accepting the challenge...
1. The OEM configuration is only available from Winnebago dealers.
2. The installation process can get pretty involved depending on several factors.
3. We can't warrant the installation, but we will warrant the product itself.
IM me if you're interested. Obviously, we can't give away more than a few so we'll go with the first-come, first-served rule.
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Travato screen door
Thank-you Dan! Nice to see some help from a manufacturer now days. I don't need a screen for our doors but I'm sure you will get quite a few volunteers, best of luck.
