Default Travato replacement tires

I have a 2917 Winnebago Travato 59K. This vehicle is on a 2016 Ram Pro Master 3500 chassis. I need replacement shoes. Stock size is 225 75R16.

Just got back from RTR 2019. Anyone who was in the area knows the entire SW was wet this year. one thing I learned is that the factory shoes are totally useless in a wet desert. These tires are just street tires. Got stuck and had to be pulled out 3 times in less than a day.

So... Looking for new shoes with a bigger lug and hopefully taller. I need more traction and better ground clearance as it doesn't take much to lose the measly 6" below the generator.

Problem is the Pro Master wasn't gifted with a tremendous amount of clearance in the wheel wells. The driving wheels (front) only offer about an inch clearance with fender flare.

Has anyone got any suggestions WRT what will work best?

I have seen some swap out the stock tires and use Yokohama Geolandars. Their deep tread are good on gravel roads. They are also "all weather" tires (with the mountain and snowflake designation) so they can even be used on snow. Perfect for the west coast which is often green and wet at sea level but deep and white a few hours drive up the road. My 2 cents.

Check out promasterforum.com for problems people have had with non-stock sizes. Michelin XRT is a good one.

Off Highway Vans in Salt Lake has a lift kit. Trent and Allie from You Tube had a three inch lift done to their Promaster.
