Tire choice

Hi folks
We've been running BFG All Terrain TAs on a 1990 RT 190P for the last 6 years and it's time for a change.
Current tires are 15" and have a C load range. I would like to possibly go with a good highway truck tire with a higher load class.
We'll be travelling full time next year and loading up a bit more than usual.
Any suggestions?

I have posted on the michelin agilis cross climate I use. quite happy with them 25,000 miles so far

Thanks mkguitar. According to Tire Rack, Michelin Agilis aren't available for my old beast. Likely due to the 15 inch size which seems to be the roadblock I keep hitting when searching for an E load range.

Mayby C-load has higher speedcode then E-load.
Max speed of tire must be the same or higher tgen max technical car speed, even if you never drive that.

Maxxis is another great option for you.

You don't give your complete tire size/rating, but Maxxis UE168 has 3 sizes in 15", all D rated, 13/32" tread depth (more than most GY, BFG, etc. LT), & speed rated R or Q. You can get them through Tire Rack, Discount Tire/America's Tire, & other shops.

They ride great, pretty good in snow & dirt/sand for an all season, & have great sidewall stiffness to resist sidewinds & 18-wheeler/bus wakes with a high profile vehicle.

I've been using them on our `88 VW Westfalia since 2015 - with better load capacity, speed rating, traction, & sidewall resistance than the factory spec tires we had when new up to the late 1990s. And they're far superior to the last set of OEM Michelin specifically made for the narrow track + high profile VW Vanagons - 2 of which bubbled, 1 tread partial separation & 1 blow-out tread separation after just 3000 miles in cool morning heat. Those Michi's were junk!

I also run the Maxxis M8008 (M8008+) ST trailer tires on our 21'-6" L vintage 1960 Avion T20 since 2012 - 2nd set this year after a 3+ year delay of no travel with it. So Maxxis makes good tires.

PS - our Westy van runs their LT 205/70R14Q C on the factory 14x6 Alloy wheels.
