Default The Dirt - traveling with Pets

For those who travel with dogs (and cats), how do you keep the dirt down in your rig? I've trained my dog to lie down on a towel at the entrance so I can clean his feet/rub him down before he goes further into the coach. Very helpful when its raining/muddy out. What do you do to minimize pet mess? How about their water bowl and food bowls?

hard flooring surfaces.

lay towels over top.

She is a shedder, so daily cleanups are required

mat outside the van

food dish is cleaned by here as soon as I fill it.

water dish has non skid and a lip to catch slops. I position it wedged behind the drivers seat.

while the driver can control rate of acceleration and speed of turns- plan for panic stops- the one thing we don;t always have control over is the braking forces.

If it's a dog you own, I would recommend bringing along a dog waste disposal as well. It definitely eliminates the hassle of having to clean up a smelly mess every once in a while.
