Unhappy Stuck Captain Chair Arm 94 Coachman Van

The arm rest on our passenger captain's chair in our 1994 Dodge ram van coachman conversion has gotten rotated and stuck down so we can no longer rotate the seat for facing the back of the van, eating etc. - It hits the door. I am wondering what to do to get at the interior works of the arm. Also if there are upholsterers who can remedy this problem? It never was a good design. the clearance between the passenger seat belt mount and the passenger door is pretty bad to begin with. Ugh! Any ideas what to do?
Thanks

Try pushing in at the pivot area, then rotating the arm. IME, Captain's chair arms are usually removed by pushing in on the pivot and rotating up to about 11/1 o'clock, or down to about 7/5 o'clock, depending on the manufacturer. Maybe your arm is stuck partly out.

On my GWV, there was thin plastic (thin like you get on dry cleaning) interfering with the pivot, making it a challenge to remove at first.
