I think in any of the "comparison" threads where the newer Chevies are included, everyone doing the comparisons needs to read this thread.

There seems to be near universal misinterpretation of the Roadtrek cargo carry capacity specifications, which are very deceiving IMO. When we got our 07, the specs were much clearer and easy to understand, so we knew what we were getting. Not that way any more.

Why do you think the Onan is a better setup than an underhood generator?

Personal preference only, I think. Not better or worse, just different.

.

If you check the used RV for sales ads,
you will find a lot of 15~20 yrs old RVs with less than 5 hrs per yr of Onan usage.

If you ask around, you will find a lot of people who have spent the equivalent of the Onan's price on maintenance.

My suggestion:

If you are going to run the air conditioning all night, then buy the Onan.

If you are going to use the microwave, then buy the Onan.

If you are going to boondock for weeks on end, then buy the Onan.

If you are using the battery ONLY for lights, cell phone, computer, fans, etc.,
and if you are driving at least 2 hrs every 2~3 days, you don't need a generator. You don't even need an underhood generator.

My 2c. YMMV
