Default Sprinter Maint Code

I have a 2017 PW Ascent on a 2016 Sprinter 2500 chassis. The RV has only 1700 miles on it. I am getting a service reminder that my "Service is overdue 116 days" (which keeps increasing). I have tried to clear the fault code by following the procedure in a youtube video:

Unfortunately, it does not clear the code. Obviously, there is no maintenance required with so little miles. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time... Ralph Ascent

Thanks George, I will give your suggestion a try this week. It is different than the youtube video. Appreciate your time. Don't know why it has to be so difficult.... Ralph Ascent

The oil change interval has a time and mileage ;isting, which ever comes first.

IOW, you could put only 5 miles on it but if it's been over the time limit(a lot of vehicles are one year), it is still due for a service. I guess one could debate the necessity of that but it is listed in the maintenance schedule.

You need to get it serviced. Does it show an "A" service in the message? That is just a basic oil change.

The Mercedes ASSYST system in the Sprinter has a one year service interval if the mileage is as low as you report. That little bit of driving in over a years is hard on a modern diesel. The low mileage means the engine likely seldom got to full operating temperature for an hours or more.

Thanks Boxster, I don't believe the "A" is present. The vehicle is not here for me to verify. Your logic response sounds good. I will check it out....Ralph Ascent
