Speaking of Toilets
I know that some people look askance at my bag ‘n bucket toilet, but this week I decided it is not just economical, etc., but in some circumstances it is absolutely the best.
MrNomer finished radiation this last week and we immediately headed to the middle of nowhere in the cool mountains. Please pardon the necessary description: The treatment left him with extreme diarrhea multiple times per day—the kind that explosively shoots out horizontally. I found and prepared a disposal place behind the van: smooth gentle slope with pine needles at the bottom. After each event, I lay the bag on the slope to allow the liquid to drain into the needles, leaving solids and paper behind in the bag. Sometimes I step on it. Then I fold the bag and put it into an odor-proof bag such as used for diapers, which then goes into the trash. On the ground there is no evidence anything happened. The toilet gets a fresh bag, absolutely nothing needs even a wipe.
