Seat Belt Shoulder Strap Locks Down

2018 Promaster passenger seat belt shoulder strap continually locks down for no apparent reason, trapping the passenger. The only way to release it is to unbuckle and completely reset. This doesn’t seem safe. Does anyone else have this problem and any suggestions what can be done about it?

Take the PM back to the a dealer for repair. This is a safety issue and should be under warranty, just like air bags.

Thank you. We did that once.

They at first said if it didn’t repeat for them they couldn’t do anything but as we left the dealer it locked her down. So they changed it. It has since returned.

We’ll make another appointment.

Wow, that is unusual. You'll have to be persistent, even though it shouldn't have started happening in the first place.
