Default sanitizing water system in 1997 Dodge 192 TB Coach house

Recently purchased a 1997 Coach House with 74k on 318 engine, runs and rides great. Taking a trip on October 10 to Chicago and wondering about draining and sanitizing water system which has had water sitting for a month or so. Although I have looked at youtube vids I am still somewhat unclear about how to make certain water from water heater is also flushed with the sanitizer solution. Any help would be appreciated. We are newbies at this so looking forward to our new adventure...

The typical technique is to run the line in question until you smell chlorine at the faucet. So, just turn on the hot water at each fixture (one at a time) and wait for the odor. When you can smell chlorine at all outlets, you are done.

I read somewhere.........that once you've done what avanti suggests, if the chlorine smell is too offensive you can put some baking soda in the tank to help kill the odor. Never tried it.
