Not a thing. That group is called "Sprinter Roadtrekers."

Yes, the new one "Roadtrekking: The Group" started awhile back when it was declared that we should only be talking about fun and games... not Repairs and Maintenance as most of the threads are about. It wasn't started by banned people, but a few have shown up. I had joined before I was banned.

Roadtrekking: The Group is the Wendland no whine zone group.

I'll stick with the "Class B Camper Van" group Wincrasher started. It is suppose to be non-denominational.

I have the "B"ing in an Advanced RV group for Advanced RV specific talk. That one was started by Advanced RV with no pretense to shill Advanced RV or usurp the "small motorhome lifestyle" and they pretty much leave discussion up to owners and customers and others interested. ARV staff and Mike Neundorfer (company owner) do not participate.

It must be time to move to Lake Wobegon and quit being a worrywort.

Seriously, that is pretty surprising considering the attention it has raised. They could at least give you an update of what is going on, even if they don't have it totally solved yet.

Time for them to put you in an etrek loaner so you can go on your trip

Default Roadtrek Ecotrek problem

I'm surprised that the problem with this Roadtrek Ecotrek unit wasn't a quick fix.

Fingers crossed that the problem is fixed soon.

That referred to me, not Mumkin, as Wendlund thinks we are misinformed "worryworts" here, shouldn't be concerned about the problems Roadtrek keeps having, and that everything is wonderful. For those not from the lost regions of the Midwest, particularly Minnesota, or PBS listeners, Lake Wobegon is the mythical town on the Prairie Home Companion radio show where everything is always perfect and peaceful. My earlier post mentioned that Wendlund must live in Lake Wobegon as he doesn't see any of the issues.

I tried to add a word to my previous post but edit is expired

"It must be time for ME to move to Lake Wobegon and stop being a worrywort."

Actually, I got all of your references. I was referring to the (very reasonable) suggestion of an etrek loaner for M.

And that was a very tongue in cheek, never gonna happen, suggestion on my part based on the fact that barely will talk to her.

It does make on wonder if folks get put on the "no Kool-aid" list and thus get put to the back of the list for attention. Sometimes it sure looks that way.

I don't think roadtrek is punishing mumkin at all.

what i do think is the ecotrek system is new. Jim Hammill has said it is NOT the same system that is in Campskunks or Mikes vehicles.

as we saw with Obamacare it does not take a lot of programming issues to mess things up.

programming is basically a lot of yes and no questions in series. if yes do this if no do that based on inputs from sensors. all it takes is one line of code to be messed up and kablooie.

also if this programming is in all the vehicles with ecotrek that have gone out or in production they could be dealing with that also.

it could also not be programming perse. it could be a battery giving false info,it could be defective bms,or defective monitor.

or they could all be working perfectly. if the battery was being protected for one of the myriad things that have to be monitored with lithium battery the error might have been unforseen in how to reset the system with no power. as i've said before in other roadtreks without lithium and bms if the battery disconnect switch is not working because of low battery usually running your alternator -or engine generator-should get battery at enough power to activate disconnect. for some reason the BMS-and that may be part of battery protection with lithium is not allowing the alternator charge sourse either-or i am totally clueless about this and it is something else-lol-

I don't think anyone is saying they think that it is unreasonable that a new system can have issues. I know I don't think it is all that unusual. It is Roadtrek's response to the issue that is the biggest question to me.

This is not the time to be prognosticating on whether or not the release was early or not tested well. All that will show up later if it is an issue.

Yes, exactly. Plus, we all have to remember the the whole B-van world is barely an industry. The number of units that are sold annually is so tiny that it is unrealistic to expect the levels of engineering and QA that you expect from, say, Apple and the iPhone. I give a lot of credit to those upfitters that are willing to innovate and I am prepared to cut them a lot of slack. But customer service is another matter. If I am going to participate in a mom-and-pop marketplace, I expect mom-and-pop attention and service.
