Default Roadtrek tire and rim mismatch?

I have a 2001 Dodge Roadtrek and just had a pair of tires replaced. I noticed that the tires 245/75R16 had printed on them not for 16.5 rims. I noted the same on the older tires that I have had on the Roadtrex. The sticker on the door reads that I do have the 16.5 rims on the vehicle. Since the van has been using 16 inch rims for all these years, I am wondering if there is a problem using 16 inch tires on the 16.5 rims? If so, what is the problem

Thanks

If you do indeed have 16.5 inch rims you need 16.5 inch tires.

Yes, a 16 inch tire will fit. But I can fit into a speedo. Neither of those things are right.

Doing a little bit of research, a normal tire has a 5 degree taper on the bead. Most 16.5 inch rims have a 15 degree taper. This means the tire won't seat properly and can lead to a blow out. Take em back and get what you need.
