Default Roadtrek shower plug not sealing

I've read that Roadtrek's shower plug should seal the drain, preventing water from coming up the drain from the gray tank, but mine doesn't seem to seal. If my gray tank is fairly full and I drive up a steep hill, I get water coming up the shower drain.

Am I missing an o-ring of some kind? Or does it just not actually seal very well?

Default

my pleasure way threaded plug required teflon tape on the threads to seal it up, a couple of wraps

while water wasn't an issue, a slight odor was.

fixed.
