Default roadtrek play

Anyone have a Play with the 13500 btu GE ac unit, and if so how does it work with the inverter.

Not sure of your question, but it only works with the inverter, and since you have an AGM battery, you best be plugged in to shorepower. It won't run long just on the battery... maybe 20 minutes. I'm not familiar with this new unit and whether it pulls less power. I hope it is quieter than the previous unit... which sounded like a plane landing.

It seems that Roadtrek used some 13500 btu units rather than the 11000 btu units. When I turn on the ac the inverter shows overload alarm. My thought was to use the ac with the engine running. With the underhood generator It should be ok but the ac won't even start. This is a 2023 Roadtrek

You will need a minimum of 3000 watt inverter to run 13,500 BTU AC. I have a Houghton Belaire(13,500) model 3401. It runs off of my Victron 12/3000 fine.
What is your inverter size?

The inverter is 3000 w. I am afraid the GE ac units are crap. I am thinking about a 9500 btu Houghton unit. From what I hear they are a pretty good unit also very quiet butI haven't seen one in use.

I don't have a HB 9500 BTU but I am sure they are pretty quiet. Previous to changing out to HB 13,500 BTU. We had a Dometic Penguin(11,000BTU). That thing was like talking with a jet engine in the background. After increasing our battery bank and installing a Victron 12/3000 and soft start on the Dometic. We ran it fine. When the HB became available to the public, we switched out the AC. I can now carry a conversation with my wife without having to yell. The appliances available these days are so much improved over previous years.

I bought a Houghton 9500 BTU unit and had it installed rather than another GE. It runs on the inverter and is pretty quiet.
