Default Roadtrek Furnace Help

The furnace in our 2004 170 has started acting up. The fan was making a bit of vibration noise once in a while then would clear up after a couple minutes. Last time I ran it it started really screeching.

Sounds to me like the fan (or motor).

Anyone know if I can get at it without removing the whole furnace?
And if not how to remove the furnace....

It is a Suburban NT-16SE.

We had the same furnace, and now the quieter version of it, in our 07 190P.

I think on all models, it has to be removed, as ours was, but it is not a very hard job to do.

Basically you remove the register, unscrew the furnace flange, disonnect the gas line and wiring which are probably wire nutted, pull (hard maybe) and it will slide out.

Thanks Booster for the quick reply!

At least it sounds do-able. I was afraid I'd have to take out the floor of the wardrobe...

For the quieter one - would that be the RP-16NEQ?

That sounds like the number we used. Certainly not silent, but more of a rushing air sound now. The original sounded like a Jet taking off.

I just wanted to report we were able to do the job. We did get a new motor instead of getting the quieter replacement. It's actually pretty quiet - like mentioned - mostly just rushing air noise.

We hardly ever use the furnace because we're always at electric sites and we have a little heater that keeps up well in our small space. Just didn't want to have a non-working thing...

We were able to go camping here in PA just last week and everything worked great - used the furnace a few times in the mornings as it was in the 30s outside.

Got the motor from a place called CamperID for 94 bucks.

Cheers!
