Roadtrek - finished blocks on side walls in the "bedroom"

Ok, since John offerred...

We've owned our '06 190P for about 6 weeks and love it. On both side walls in the "bedroom" there are two nicely finished blocks of wood mounted on piano hinges allowing them to swing upward. They look nice but we are clueless as to their function. Any advice appreciated.

I had guessed that the wood blocks were there to hold the seat cushions in place. Lift the block up and slide the cushion under. I'm not certain about that though.
