Default Roadtrek driver steps -how long do they last?

I have 1997 Roadtrek 170 with 32K original miles in very good shape except for the driver side step which recently got cracked badly.
I am in the process of replacing it with a new one.
Just curious how long do they last under normal usage?
My weight is not that much, about 175 pounds and. the other driver about 185 lb.Occasionally a service man (oil change, etc.) steps on it with 200+ lb or so but that's about it.
It does sit in CA sun outside since it does not fit in the garage.
So if any RT owners would share their experience with the step I would really appreciate it.

I have a 97 PW and have a related question to all: I've contemplated adding a slide out step to the side entry. Has anyone ever done this? I've seen them for sale.............somewhere.

You question is absolutely not related: different vehicle and complerely different topic.
Do you mind starting a new thread?
If people start replying to both different topics it would create a communication mess.
I hope it can be done or I would need to start a new one.
Sorry,
