Default Roadtrek Dodge tranny removal

Is it necessary to drop the gray and black water holding tanks to remove the transmission?

Don't really know, but usually the drive shaft must come off in order to pull the tranny away from the engine block to clear the torgue converter. Then the tranny can lower straight down. Another method is to remove the engine first, then the tranny can be shifted forward to separate from the driveshaft, but that seems more trouble.YMMV

I haven't heard of it being necessary on the Dodges. Only some shops seem to be able to do the Chevies without removing them.

my 2000 Dodge RT 190 tranny was done two years ago. Nothing was removed other than cut the exhaust pipe rather than risk shearing off bolts in the exhaust manifold. I usually work on my own stuff but this project required some help I did not have.
