Replacing Door Retainers

I need to replace damaged door retainers on the side utility doors. The old ones are fastened on with rivets. How do I remove them without damaging the door itself? Thanks for your help.

Make, model, year of class B van.
By utility doors, do you mean the external storage compartment covers/doors?

Doh!! I was getting ahead of myself and thinking in terms of replacing the keyed latches, not just removing the existing rivets.
Drill works, and is the only way I've seen used to remove rivets.
