Default Replacement seats for older Coach House?

Just purchased a '98 Coach House 194RS widebody, and I have a few questions about seats.

Having looked at several Roadtreks, Pleasure Ways, Leisure Travels, etc before buying the CH, it seems like the seats MAY be somewhat generic off-the-shelf bits and interchangeable between manifacturers. Is this generally the case?

My van has (SHOULD have) four captains' chairs. One is missing, the other 3 are pretty much threadbare. I'd like to cover them, however I would want the cover to completely hide all the blue and I haven't really seen a cover that would do that.

Are there used seat sets available out there? Are the bases interchangeable?

This is really a pretty easy question to answer, I can even buy complete replacement seats for a not-outrageous amount of money. But then, what about the rear power sofa? I would want that to match also.

Or do I just have to bite the bullet and pay an upholsterer to redo everything? Which would not only be expensive but also tie the van up for probably a month or two, which I really need to avoid.

What are you all doing for seat "refreshment"?

Thanks,
Darel

Hi and Welcome to the forums

I have a 2006 Pleasure Way Lexor built on a 2005 chev 3500

My seats (2) are the stock chevy seats, with nice covers made by a upholstery shop in saskatoon for PW

The tough ( for me) part was determining the source of my seats because I didn't know. once I got the seats out and the covers off I could see part numbers, which were all GM

The seat base foam needed replacing, I bought from "the seat shop".
A great fix.

I reused my covers after cleaning them

I do see used "rv" seats on my local craigslist- there are specialty salvage yards for rvs

I think your first step is figuring out who made your seats, Dodge ? ( btw many RV's are built on a previous model year chassis)

Thanks Mike! I was wondering about that, if I would be able to find some sort of part number if I took the seats apart. I'll have to look into that. I am a little concerned about trying to remove a cover and the foam underneath just completely falling apart, and not even being usable for a pattern. I had a Triumph TR6 once that I reupholstered the seats myself, and when I removed the covers they were literally just a bag of foam "granules".

Thank you!
