I have 43,000 miles on my 2012....

Could be a symptom of miles or age...or just a bad batch??

Finally, I wonder what the incidence of this happening on the Four or SIX cylinder engines?
There's probably statistics on this somewhere? I'll Google it and do a search....

77k miles

Federal emissions warranty is 8 years or 80,000 miles... worst they can say is 'NO..".

Yeah, I'd press them to consider it.. good PR....

No.

Federal Emissions Warranty for MY2014 diesel is 5 years/100K miles.

California long-term emissions (good in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington) is 7 years/70K miles.

DPF is covered under both. However, the bracket may not be, and if the failure was due to a non-warranted part, they might decline the coverage.

Default 77 thousand seems like a lot on a 2014?

AND.... despite what many people think...it's not high mileage for a diesel.... especially a Mercedes Benz diesel.....

FWIW.... Mercedes Benz has been continuously making diesel engines since 1936.... That's a very long time.....

Those of us old enough to remember the "failure of the GM diesel engines"....those were terrible...

A few domestic diesel engines do exist.....how good are they?? I don't know..
Mercedes Benz has a long reputation for diesel engines...

For an RV...15,000 miles per year is HIGHER than most... but, because it's a Class B... still not unexpected... With fuel at an all time high...and some rigs getting 7 or 8 MPG...I can certainly understand why a lot of RVs don't have excessively high mileage....

This Class B, especially if purchased in late 2013.. could easily be 60 months old... and that would be just over 15,000 miles per year....

You know my local MB dealership said 8 years and 80,000... what do they know....I just checked my owners manual...7 years and 70,000 for California.....

It was a 5 years and 100,000 miles warranty..... beyond 5 years..... academic.

I guess I was extremely fortunate to have had all the emissions system replaced just when I did...... vehicle runs great........ and no excessive DEF fluid use....

Thanks.
