Registering our RV when we live in Hawaii

Haven't seen this topic so thought that I would ask. We live in Hawaii and have an RV garaged in Oregon. We registered the RV in Oregon, when we bought it as we frequently visited my son who lived there and helped pay the bills so were able to prove residency. But now he has moved. To get our rig registered we would have to bring it back to Hawaii and then take it back to the mainland again to travel. The cost of that is prohibitive. We have heard about registering in South Dakota and Montana. Does anyone know about liability of this. We live the majority of our time in Hawaii so pay taxes here. But, I have to say that now that we have been on a couple of long trips, being a fulltimer is crossing our mind. Any thoughts or does anyone from Hawaii have this problem and how have you solved it??
