Default Re:Specification information RoadTrek-vs-Pleasure-Way

Reading the specifications of RoadTrek -vs- Pleasure-Way:

RoadTrek, 2008 Chevrolet 170 -190 & 210 Models:

Exterior Height: 8'-9"
Interior Height: 170: 72" - 190: 73" - 210: 74"

Pleasure-Way, Chevrolet Lexor with Outside AC:

Exterior Height: 8'-9"
Interior Height: 73"

The Exterior Height on both the RoadTrek Chevy 170, 190, and 210 models and the Pleasure-Way Lexor models are the same. The Interior Height on the RoadTrek 190 is the same as the Pleasure-Way Lexor.

Did RoadTrek do away with a lowered floor, does it has now have a level floor, wondering why the same Exterior Height, is it because of the TV Antenna on the roof, although I believe Pleasure-Way has the same TV Antenna on the roof plus the outside Air Conditioner.

Have read that a higher roof class B is less expensive to build than a low profile roof with a lowered floor, also understand that a RoadTrek 170 and 190 can be built with a level floor and the removal of one or more seats to accommodate installation of a wheel chair lift by an after-market company.

In the past the RoadTrek 170 models were lower in Exterior Height than the 190, 200 & 210 models, also the 190 models were also lower in Exterior Height than the 200 & 210 models.

Maybe Someone goofed on the Exterior Heights of the 2008 RoadTrek models, possibly a Miss Print.

Interesting observation there Ron.

I sent a PM to Steve from Roadtrek to see if he will comment. He's probably at the Family Motor Coach Association's Convention in Minneapolis right now though.

Hi Mark,

I received an E-mail from Dawn at RoadTrek, here is the E-mail reponse I received from Dawn:

Ron,

The difference in interior height has nothing to do with the overall exterior height. The overall exterior height of the units now includes the wineguard antenna, which is now a standard feature, so is included in the overall height measurement. The 210 and 190 are 8'9" overall, including this feature, and the 170 currently is 8'7" with this feature.

The standing height is unchanged for the 190, because the floors are different inside. Yes we do still lower the floors on both units, but it is performed in a different manner in the 210 versus the 190 and 170. In the 210, the floor is produced from fiberglass and is lowered approximately an inch lower than the 190 and 170. These two units have the galley lowered, but because there is not a fiberglass construction on these units, the lowering is a bit less.

The current roof line of the 170 is lower than the 190 and 210, so the overall height is approximately 2" shorter.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,
Dawn Crowe
