I drove cross country a couple of years ago. (I'm a woman.) Tell your wife she can do it. Then let her get comfortable driving on roads that are not too challenging. Long stretches, then some with some traffic.

I'm still not good at backing up, but at least I find work arounds such as always parking where I can pull out driving straight.

Like any new computer, RV, sewing machine, microwave it takes some getting used to, but I'm sure she's up to it.

We did four months in Ontario, Quebec , Labrador, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. We used Ioverlander.com and probably boondocked for free except for two nights in Ontario, one in Quebec (national Oark). One night in Labrador, and two in Newfoundland (National Park). Total campground costs were under $300US.

It only took that one time for us to realize that a car is simply not the right tool for that job. We did the trip in the July / August time frame, and we were Class B owners by the end of September of that year.

Interblog: For us it was the same time-frame, and the same results! Happy coincidences! Mike
