Default propane solenoid

I replaced my propane solenoid several months ago because it was leaking. The new one has recently started intermittently not closing entirely (the valve is normally closed, opened when powered) and when that happens it will close when I tap it with a wrench. In either case it still audibly clicks open when powered on, so it still basically works, but perhaps the spring is worn or the valve is fouled somehow. I am surprised that the new solenoid (from Advanced Fuel Component like the original) would start to fail so quickly when the original one was in place I assume for decades. Can these things be lubricated internally or repaired in any way?
