Default Promaster lift kit

I'm considering a PW Lexor on the Promaster (used). I perfer the Transit but I can't find my desired floorplan at my desired price.

My big concern with the Promaster is the clearance. I go off pavement quite a bit and broke a few things on my 2008 Chevy PW before i lifted it.

I found Off Highway Vans in Utah they say their lift kits do not compromise the drive train. I heard that lifting a Promaster would jeopardize the CV etc..

Anyone use their lift kit and/or ride control kit, etc.? Or have any knowledge of this company? Thanks.

Go to the promaster site and search for the subject. From what I have read, there are problems with the CV joints with all kits.

Hard to imagine a lift kit would do much, the solid rear axle would still be the low point. Outside of that there is quite a bit of clearance already, so unless you fix that issue it seems like a waste of time to work on the front.

We take our 136” PM on most any road not labeled “high clearance” or “4WD.”

I second checking the PM forum. Some horror stories there.

Thanks jakegw2. Not worried about the axle height worried about plumbing, gen, rocker panels, etc.. I broke my drain pipe on a rock and snaped off my fresh water drain valve on my Chevy PW. Lifted the PW and haven't had any scrapes or damage since. A couple of inches makes a huge difference when on rough roads.

I am now thinking of a Ford Transit in either Lexor or Coachman Beyond 22D.

Thanks MsNomer, I checked the PM forum and found a lot of problems with the lift and OHV. Changing my mind on the Ram and leaning toward the Transit. Haven't found a deal yet that fits my pocketbook. The Ram I'm looking at is a long wheel base with rocker panels. PW Lexor 2017. Looks a little low for my taste. Floorplan is perfect though and so is the price. Still looking.
I've taken many 'high clearance' roads with my Chevy PW with no problems since I lifted it.

These lift kits void the Promaster warranty on the suspension and etc. We have had a couple reports on the Roadtrek owners page of FB of people who have had significant and extremely expensive damage to the van caused by it. Some are still considering doing it, but are waiting until the Promaster warranty has expired to do so.
