Default Promaster 2021 vs 2022

Anyone know when Dodge started delivering the new 2022 promaster chassis with 9 speed transmission to the OEM rv manufacturers? What month of the 2021 year?

I read somewhere. A 2021 Promaster used for deliveries. Person could never get his transmission into 7,8 or 9 gear? Some others also experienced this. The supposition is, weight of vehicle(loads) needs to keep transmission at lower gears to maintain speeds?

Just something to think about. Maybe a 9 speed transmission is overkill for the the engine and most applications?

More specifically, it is the gear ratio's that prevent running in higher gears. Or, ok, not enough low rpm torque/hp.

The C8 Corvette has 8 speeds, but it has the low rpm torque/hp to use them at it's weight. The Promaster does not at 3500 Class B weights.

This doesn't come out until the 2022 models... the 2021 has the same transmission since our Ducato clone arrived. Which might explain why his 2021 doesn't get to gears that don't exist yet. lol
