Just thought I'd update this topic. I can't remember when I bought these new stands. I've used them a few times and they do the job.

They have a three ton rating per pair

I think this level of product is adequate for my needs. It's not expensive and comes up on sale often.

Add a jack or two and

two and a half ton floor jack.JPG

you can have fun working on your van.

As Booster pointed out, axle stands are needed if you're doing wheel related work or lubing the front end etc.
