Default Power Converter

Have my rig plugged into shore power and I am noticing that the converter fan seems to be constantly running. Been plugged in now for about 12 hours, went out to check it out and the fan is running.

Previously, I have had it plugged into shore power for 48 hours and upon unplugging, the control panel lights show 3 of the 4 lights illuminated for the house battery. I would think that all 4 lights would be illuminated immediately after unplugging from the shore power.

My question, is this normal or do I have issues due to what I have described above?

Does not seem right to me - seem to me like the symptoms of a weak battery that the converter is struggling to charge. However, my testing shows the house battery at over 13V

Hope this is understandable as I have described.

Thanks

Those monitors for checking the battery arre pretty much worthless.

Get a volt meter, or best solution, a shunt based battery monitor. The volt meters can be had for about $15, the shunt units for about 34 on Amazon.

The shunt based monitors are really the way to go.

Shunt based monitors, Bogart or Victron, are $100-$200. You must have one to do any sort of battery care and understanding.

Has your experience been that the converter/fan runs constantly? Or does it stop when the battery is fully charged? Not familiar with this old model of converter. Thanks

Yes - those indicators on the panel do not offer much useful info for sure.
