Two things:
The cost includes all the rest-inverter, outlets, control, equipment case, etc. the battery is replaceable, and does not cost $3,200.

One person installed one into a Winnebago Paseo, and connected it in parallel with the house batteries. He ran everything for a full weekend with no genny support.

I think there have to be true heat pumps in at least some of them. I think our Dometic non rooftop I am pretty sure I have heard the compressor start when I tested the heat pump function from the thermostat a long time ago, but we never use it.


We have also heard of people replacing reversing valves which would also indicate a true heat pump.
