Default Onan 2.8 Microlite governer

Does anyone who has alot of experience tuning these gen sets know
what the default position for the governor sensitivity screw is?
The screw has about an inch or so of travel with a spring that connects to
the governer speed arm.

I don't think there are too many Onan generator techs on this forum, but I may be mistaken.
As a suggestion, contact your nearest Cummins/Onan dealer/repair center and ask them your question.
Link to their website for dealer/repair locations...

There may also be a downloadable specs sheet or manual available for your specific year/model generator at that same site that might help.
Found this old thread on another forum, with some references to governor settings. Maybe there's a clue in the discussion there for you?

You would probably want to go over to the Yahoo Roadtrek forum. There is at least one guy there that has done lots and lots of Onan repair work and really knows his stuff. He would certainly be able to help you.

Don't claim to be an expert but the ones I've seen are right about in the middle. On mine there was an obvious clean spot on the threads where the screw had been set originally.

The service manual is available on line if you Google around a bit. It covers adjusting the governor at idle and max load. If the generator is out take the extra time to pull then fan and clean the slip rings.
