Oil drips from steering parts?
I have been getting random oil drips on the garage floor, mostly from the old Buick but also from the Chevie van. Of course they seem to come from places I can't see well and come and go, sometimes leaving drips on the frame also.
I finally figured out that the oil is coming out of the greased steering joints on both of the vehicles. The grease itself seems to be separating, with nearly clean oil dripping out, even with moly grease. You always will get a little grease bleed out after greasing, but this happens weeks after the greasing, usually. I am using Fleet Farm moly chassis grease, as I have for many years, and this seems to be within the last 2 years or so. Maybe they changed it? I would hate to use expensive Amsoil or Royal Purple grease on the chassis parts, as it hasn't been needed in the past.
Anybody else seeing anything like this?
