Default Odd water leak

I have a 1997 Pleasure Way STW. The port on the side of the van has the water fill, a vent and a city water connection. The city water connection is basically the same as the female end of a garden hose(for obvious reasons). It also has a rubber cap that snaps into the fitting. When I pressurize my domestic water I get very slow leak from the city water port(not connected to city water). I was just going to purchase a female threaded plug and keep it in there when not using city water. Anyone ever seen this? Is this the best solution?

Thanks,
Tim

What do you mean by pressurize the system when not connected to city water? Turning on the pump? I have the same year/model PW as you and I've never had any water leaking from the city water inlet when operating off of pump/fresh water tank. So I don't believe it's a common situation.

Your plumbing diagram will likely be different but I would think you should have a check valve downwards from the inlet. Check it.

Thanks George. Makes sense that there needs to be a check valve to prevent the water pump from pumping out the city water inlet. Now I need to find it!
