Nubbies Under Driver's Seat

I took both seats out of our 2000 Roadtrek Versatile 200 to install new carpeting. Obviously, there are the four nuts and bolts to hold the seats in place.

Now, what is the function of these 2.5 inch nubbies under only the driver's seat. They are NOT under the passenger seat. Can I grind them off? Do they service some special purpose? Any info???

It is pretty common to have two sets of seat mounting studs in a vehicle.


The reason is mostly that they offered both a manual and power seat version of the vehicle, and they require different mountings My 96 Buick Roadmaster had two sets of four studs on each side, and now has half of them gone.


If they aren't for your seats, just cut them off if you want with an abrasive cutoff wheel.
