novakool r4500 Travato 59k

Thought I'd mention that my subject refrigerator, just one year old, was inop after 3 months non-use at end of first year. Fair amount of usage first year.
Novakool troubleshooting was right on and company was quick to ship a resistor and thermostat, all under warranty.
Fiddly bit of an install, but doable and all is working well now.
Kudos to Novakool for quick ship, no hassle, however, curious as to why?
Is this an known issue after for a yr of normal use? Could I have screwed it up somehow? Van garaged and well cared for.
What would parts cost if not under warranty?
Should I expect this to be a yearly maintenance issue?
It's a PITA to remove/install refrigerator in a 59k, not to mention thermostat R&R inside fridge.

Really happy Novakool willing to work with owner rather than referring to dealer.

Probably they knew about the problem,
but not all the units have this problem.

This seems to be an exception. I've not read this being very common.

All and all, Nova-Kool fridges appear to be fairly reliable. One of the biggest gripes I read about the Travato 59G is the fridge in that unit. Even the Fit RV people have a few video series on YouTube about their tiny mod to their 59G's fridge.

I have that model in both my van and on the Ranger Tug. It's been flawless so far on both. Novakool is very popular in marine use, most likely because of their durability.
