Alabama actually makes a lot of sense and there is no shortage of talented labor.

Re: New videos from Sterling RV / Great West Vans
It might make sense from that website (not that a local Chamber of Commerce may not... shall we say, exaggerate about this topic), but I know that they are having issues getting the right people. But that is always a problem with a new company in a new environment.

Anyone know anything about Great West, who apparently went into receivership and closed in late June? I'm hoping that they will reopen in some reincarnation. We bought a GWV Classic Promaster just before they closed, and want some modifications and corrections done.
Barring that, does anyone know any reliable shop in the Northeast who could do some modifications (take off bathroom door and substitute sliding door) and corrections on the GWV Promaster Classic?
Thanks,
Archeogal

There's a discussion thread here talking about what's been happening recently with Great West. The current status (as I understand it) is that the owners have gone back to Canada, and the bank has lawyered up & sued them, so I wouldn't expect them to be reopening anytime soon.

You might start a new thread asking about RV shops on this board... and RV Net.
Another place might be the Facebook page for Roadtreking. Many members with B's and not all of them own Roadtreks.
If you were in Minnesota, I could help you out.

These links don't work for me. I cut and pasted them into the search field of You Tube and get a cute pet video and a commercial.
Am I doing this wrong?

Here they are:
Those were links in the old forum. The new forum does it differently.
The video id's are: dSXADdIiz9Q & 5FXEjBvz8UQ & ZPOYBmum4Uo - those are the important bits from the old links.
Edit - we were typing at the same time!

Lake Regions RV is still showing two 2015 Sterling vans, a Legend and a rear bath Promaster, on their site. They also have quite a few used ones, including, I think, Davydd's old unit.
I wonder how all this is going to affect the pricing of them. Could go down do to the "orphan" effect or could go up do to the rarity that will happen.

Yes, my old GWVan is still listed. Lake Region offered to buy it I imagine to have one. I didn't want to be stuck with two Bs over the winter so took their offer. Now I am glad I did.

I think this is the Alabama Edition Sprinter shown in the videos:
Sprinter Sports Edition
I don't know if it is still available or not.

That Alabama Edition Sprinter is definitely built from a Great West Van Legend. Is it a one off model? Is it a left over from the plant closing and someone else finishing it off? Who knows?

It was definitely done at the factory--last fall IIRC. It was featured on their website for awhile. It was also mentioned in one of the local newspaper articles back when the news was all good. I believe it was done in partnership with the local Mercedes dealer. I've always wondered whether they bothered to license the rights to the football team's trademarks.
Almost certainly one-off, although they said at the time that they would consider doing other teams.

Thanks for posting that article, Dan. It is interesting to see that someone was able to interview Dave about Great West.
