New Tires and Shocks recommendations please

I see a lot of talk about blowouts, tread separation etc. I also notice that people do not talk about tire maintenance. Run a tire 20% under recommended pressure for any distance and it can destroy a tire. I have TPMS and a compressor and will not drive 1 foot on a low tire!

Go to Costco and get yourself a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3.

Then order a set of Bilstein shocks.

I will also vouch for the Michelin Agilis Crossclimate, it is a massive upgrade over the stock tires (which wore out for me at about 30k - my MACs still look like new 50k later).

The blowouts and tread separation is on the stock van tires: Nexen Roadian LT225/75R16.
Do not use these tires! They will fail, I think Ram and others put them on as they are very quiet and smooth. But with any load added to the tire and freeway driving they will fail.

Michelin Agilis Cross-climate provide a better ride with less road noise than Nexen OE tires. Just put 1800 + miles on them with no complaints.

Michelin Agilles Tires are perfect. They are smooth handling tires and wear well.

I have Michelin on my van with Koni FSD shocks.... it's very smooth. Doesn't really matter on the mileage because for safety it's highly recommended to change the tires every 5 years.

Also, for safety, consider a tire pressure monitoring system.

Looking back, do you feel the Koni's were worth the money? What did you change from "shock wise"?

At 39,000 miles I had the factory Mercedes Benz Sprinter shocks replaced. The problem with the original shocks is that they were designed for a cargo van. My conversion van has the constant weight of all the equipment and is always present.

Yes, it was definitely worth it. And, I had the factory anti-sway bar replaced at the same time with a much larger unit.

It doesn't handle like a sports sedan, but, it is a much better controlled ride.
