That was quick! Photoshop is beyond me. I made the logo fit a little better & changed the description a bit. Most of that area is text. Text is easy to edit.

A brand new version of the forum software was released yesterday so I went ahead and upgraded the board tonight. We're now at version 3.0.3

Go ahead and try to upload an avatar. The size is limited to 10kb and 90px x 90px.

I added a custom profile field named My RV. Members can enter the make & model of their RV.

I'm no Photoshop expert, but I've been using it since 1995 or so. So, the "Class B forum" part would get a graphic, and the rest is text. Gotcha.

I'll try the avatar, and the My RV part.

Out of curiosity, does this software offer a multi-quote ability? Like if I wanted to reply to two or more posts, I could click the "Quote+" icon and it'll remember all the posts I want to quote? Just curious. I find that to be a blessing if I'm quoting and replying to a lot of people.

Hope you don't mind the suggestions. I know they may mean more headaches for you.

Keep the suggestions coming - they are welcomed.

Multi quote does not appear to be a standard feature.

When you reply, the previous post can be seen at the bottom of the page. You can easily copy and paste text from those posts.

Understood.

The avatar and the "My RV" portions are working just fine. Thanks for those!

I also like the smiley selection. It's just right.

I upgraded the forum last night. We are now at version 3.0.4. Let me know if there are any problems.

I also installed a photo gallery for forum members to use. It is bridged to the forum meaning that forum controls the log on to the gallery. Only forum members can post photos to the gallery. Guests can only view the photos.

To get started you need to create an Album and the upload photos to that album. Be as descriptive as you can with each photo uploaded. It will help later when someone searches for a photo. For example, if you are uploading a photo of a motorhome add the year, make, model etc.

If your create an album that you want other members to be able to upload to then make sure that "visitors can upload file" is set to YES on the album properties.

Visitor are gallery members. Visitors are not Guests because guests are not members. Guests cannot upload to any album.

There is a link to the photo gallery in the upper right area of the forum.

The link to return to the forum from the gallery is just left of center on the upper part of the photo gallery page.

I added a Recommend this site link next to the Photo Gallery link.

The " Recommend this site " link lets you send a link to Class B Forum via the forum email to friends that might be interested in Class B motor homes.

Go ahead and try it

------------------------------------

Also, the Photo Gallery is for anyone / everyone here to use. You can create an Album and share photos with others.

I re-indexed the forum's search database today and it is working much better. "Search" is in the upper right corner.

Bookmarks and or Favorites:

Use

http://www.classbforum.com/phpBB2 (notice the uppercase BB in phpBB2 - you have to use them)
or
http://www.classbforum.com/phpBB2/index.php
or
http://www.classbforum.com

for your Bookmarks and or Favorites. Don't use the IP address, you know the one that starts with http : // 98.....

The forum uses cookies to remember you but they only work by using the url's listed above. When the forum remembers you then you automatically get logged in to the photo gallery.

Features like View unanswered posts • View new posts • View active topics appear (and work well) when you are logged in using the url's listed above. I use the • View new posts • feature every time I visit the forum.

If you have subscribed to topics using the IP address then there's a good chance your filtering software on your email will block or warn you. I guess the software thinks that people use URL's ( http://www.classbforum.com/phpBB2 ) and spam bots use direct IP's ( http : // 98....)

So update your Bookmarks and or Favorites to:

http://www.classbforum.com/phpBB2 (notice the uppercase BB in phpBB2 - you have to use them)
or
http://www.classbforum.com/phpBB2/index.php
or
http://www.classbforum.com

Default Need someone to upload a photo to gallery

I need members to upload photos to the Photo Gallery so that I know that I have set the permissions correctly. I know that I can upload but I need to know if other members can upload.

Basically, if you are logged into the forum then you should be able to upload a photo to the Photo Gallery. So go ahead and upload a photo of your RV or of your pet or of something you've seen on a trip.

I uploaded one Mark. Just have to make sure the pictures are small enough to upload. My first try failed but I shrunk the picture down to 600X400 and it worked fine.

That's a great photo.

Thanks for trying. The software is supposed to automatically resize uploaded photos......

I've adjusted the maximum sizes now. It needs to be easier if everyone is going to use it.

Uploaded photo can now be up to 2mb (2000 k) and 1024 pixels length or width.

I'd appreciate it if you or anyone else here would upload more photos and report back.

No problem Mark. I uploaded a full sized picture. It was 485k in size and 1632X1232 resolution. Had no problems with the upload.

I'll have a go.
First attempt failed "The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 500 KiB."
The pic was 672Kb.

Correction, I attached a file to this post using the "Upload attachment" tab . It didn't work. I haven't tried adding pics to the Photo Gallery via the link yet.
Give me a min.

Ok, uploaded 5 pics, no problems. Average size around 675Kb.

Thanks everyone. For photos uploaded prior to Mike's I accidentally deleted the "large size" so there are only thumbnail and "medium" images left.

However, I now have a much better understanding of how it works.

You can create your own albums

I seem to be having a problem sending PM's. I've tried replying to one and sending a couple others but all that happens is; the message goes to the Outbox and stays there. The messages never get sent. Is anyone else having this issue or is it just me?
