I can't believe the height in your garage. In both my condos, my Toyota Sienna barely cleared all the pipes. When I got my RV, I suggested that they removed those pesky pipes so that I might fit (and the taller door), but they said no.

We are in the only building I know of with this clearance getting into the garage in the vicinity. Pretty lucky for sure.

I suspect that it is the only one in the continental US... LOL
I have been in dozens of condo garage set-ups... in Virginia, Maryland, North Dakota, Minnesota... nothing even close.

There are not many but there must be another.
The entry is 10' and a drain pipe is 9'10.5". Entry is low left of picture.

When I've asked RE agents about something like this... even in affordable single family homes... they just laugh and suggest that I buy land and build my own place. LOL
Of course around snowbird land... AZ, FL, TX, etc... there are some special resorts that give you a garage that will fit a big rig.
But we digress...

Perhaps the architect thought these 10 foot openings could be instrumental in letting the water out after the hurricane.

Codes and ordinances now require newer building garages to accommodate emergency vehicles on the main level under certain conditions. A byproduct of that is accommodation for taller vehicles like RVs if the design works out to provide parking.

Most condos don't have the parking on the main or street level, but in the basement. So... that may not count?

no wonder so many new condos, especially in tight urban areas, have at least one level of high roof underground parking.

Last Photo Pulled In
I wasn't sure I could pull the van all the way in due to a low-ish hanging pipe. Tried last night and had plenty of room. Actually have room for a small car if we ever need. Again, our plan is to be car-less and use the Agile once or twice a week when we need to do a large shopping or similar.

Congratulations Ponti, sounds like you're already enjoying the new RV. I'll be following how your solar system is working out.
I notice your parking is a tandem - so each owner gets 2? or you guys on a valet system?
I actually thought about the height when we got our used RT (8'-3"). Most buildings in CA after the ADA was adopted required access to accessible vans (8'-2"). So when we design buildings with garages we usually start with 12' ceilings to allow for pipes, beams, and makes sure the lowest clearance is set at about 8'-4". Once we get passed the accessible parking area the height clearance can go as low as 7'. DavydD is right, in some urban areas where no emergency vehicles have access within the site, the garage goes higher - in CA that's 13'-6" - yikes...most building owners don't want to spend for the extra height.
Congrats again!

Thx. I will post updates as we begin to use. We have one of the larger units so we have a deeded tandem space, about 3/4 of the units have a single space only. Can be a pain if you have 2-cars but we both typically walk to work so it has been okay for us.

My 170 is my only vehicle. It sits in the driveway in front of my garage door. But the advantage of that is the solar keeps the batteries constantly topped up... and I don't have that worry anymore. (because even with the battery switch disconnected, they will run down very quickly)

That is interesting. If you have AGM batteries, they should stay good for a long time, even months. How long are you talking about?

Yup, agree. We have been watching since we been back....was at 14 when back. after 2-days at 13.8. Hopefully each weekend when it is out it will charge and hold and or I will need to trickle it. In FL, I would rather have it out of the sun rather than the beating that does on cars down here.
