Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster
Lexor name was Chevy. Does that mean another coffin nail for the Chevy van?

Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster
The press release refers to it as the Promaster Lexor so maybe they will continue to offer the Chevy Lexor - at least for now. We'll know soon enough.
I'll try to get more photos and some details of the solar setup. Might have to wait until the show debut.

Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster
There is really very little question that the Chevy van will go away, at least in it's current form, so any manufacturer who was needing upgrading of their Chevy models would be crazy to spend money doing it. The Lexor was severely behind the update curve, so it makes perfect sense to go to the new platform instead of updating the Chevy.
That said, at $100K, for what most folks will be considering the lowest of the base vans (Promaster, third after Sprinter and Transit) it might be a tough sell against other Promaster at near $30K less, and Sprinters the same or less.

Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster
We have to see what the price will be. the mostly B manufacturers tend to price higher than most of us think is reasonable. the travato is winnebego and costs spread among many more rv's.
however pleasure way still sticks to the tried and true. i'm sure it's a quality van but not revolutionary.
I do not want an onan if i can help it.
it's still Roadtrek for me unless someone else offers a quiet generator

Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster
Pleasure-way is usurping their traditional names for other types of platforms like the Plateau XL is a cutaway chassis Class C and not a B. Taking the Lexor name for the Promaster must mean the lower cost end of their lineup. I was told by one Pleasure-way B owner who thought they were in the know that they could get all the Chevy vans they wanted but couldn't sell them. So I wonder. Roadtrek may be the lone hold out but I understand they are pulling in a bit too dropping the Nissan N6, which to me was nothing but a pickup truck with a van back end and never very practical as a van in configuration. General Motors had negative sales in August. They need to get on the stick.
Pleasure-way also introduced the Sprinter Plateau FL.
The FL is a nice design layout and exactly the opposite in philosophy in my crit of Roadtrek. Unfortunately, they are sticking to a decade old standard tried and true Class B design right down to the 3-way frig and one battery. I think they are going to find that Roadtrek is on to something in the battery/solar/inverter ideas even if it doesn't prove to be 24/7 or 9 hour air conditioning.

yes-18-20 percent is usually the markdown-but you need an msrp to mark down from-
you can compare msrp's or you can compare msrp's minus 18-20 percent. it's still a comparison of apples to apples or oranges to oranges

Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster
The 18% has been surprisingly consistent on a lot of models, especially the Roadtreks. I haven't been paying attention very well on the Travato and ERA models that start out at a lower price than Roadtreks. Are folks able to do the 18% on them also?

Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster
Imagine that!
Might be my prognostications about the market and where the niches may lay is correct!
Hate to say I told you so, but I did.
After the intial introduction, this van will transact for $80-$85k, slightly above the Travato and will sell very well.

wincrasher-this van has a regular configuration-no one said the the promaster was a bad van -just that the Travato floorplan was not very good for more than one person.
you are twisting what most of us said. this does not improve the Travato floorplan-

Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster
No, I was referring to my posting that Promaster would anchor the low end of the market and displace the Chevy's. Most here and on other forums are saying they think it will be MB and Transit, with no room for the Promaster. I disagree and PW's move is proving me out.
I've already relented on the point that most of you think the Travato is a rolling torture chamber.

I think if the Chevy express 3500 keeps being made-and I don't know one way or the other - i think Roadtrek will continue to use it because some people-me-want the built in ACthat keeps total van height under 9 feet. the promaster is lower that the other vans because of it's front wheel drive but because of roof AC is till over 9 feet,
again-i do not think Travato is a torture chamber(well almost) but it is a 1 person van.

Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster
Yes I see your point about the height. I'm sure that is important to many buyers (probably looking for residential garage parking).
But unless there is a big price differential, I think it's a tough sell to keep the Chevy. It just can't compete with the interior spaceousness of the PM. Side-by side on the showroom floor, with the same layout, and around the same price, I doubt many would go for the Chevy.
Now if it was $8k to $10k cheaper, then maybe you'd want the Chevy. Well, you may want it, but I'm sure your old lady would want the PM.

my old lady wants what we are going to order-which is also less than the pleasure way
Roadtrek Ranger-NO ONAN-engine generator/4 batteries/solar panels/3000 watt inverter/PERMANENT DINETTE-propane option(for the heat) and an msrp of about 95,000 dollars.
i also think that Roadtrek will use the promaster and use the transit. However from what i've read the full E_TREK package will be too heavy for the promaster(probably too heavy for the partial e-trek package also)-and the transit. i do think the Transit can handle the partial e-trek package. the highest gvwr i could get for transit is 10,300. the sprinter is 11,030.
