Default Need to replace the mattress

When I recently bought my 2001 Pleasure Way Excel RD the previous owner had replaced the sofa/bed with a regular mattress. It's comfortable but I would like for us to have a place to sit then change the sofa to a bed to sleep. Any suggestions??

We need to replace mattress as well, just pulled the convertible rear seat out to assess what is going to be required. If you're missing the original bed hardware, that would be start. There was a rear seat for sale but it was Calif, shipping might be expensive.
We are starting to look at options, recover, or replace with full time bed. Maybe a manual futon type setup, but will need to be custom built or removable cushions that can be converted to bed using air mattress.

We put a full time bed in our 07 Roadtrek 190P a long time ago.

We use arm pillows to use the bed as a lounger than a couch. We find it more comfortable than a regular sofa.

I don't know which way to go. I wish it had the two beds so it would be a place to sit & sleep.

Default Best sleeping mattress

I saw a post about this a month or so ago. I have a 2014 MB Roadtrek, dually , 23 feet. Came with a chunk of foam that we placed after the bed area decks out. So bulky and cumbersome, had to store in the bathroom . Next , and not ideal , a blow up mattress, presently using .

Really need a 70” x 80” , 2-3” pad, that can fold/ roll up and store . We like using the back seating with table for 4 people every so often.

Any ideas?

I built my rock&roll sofa bed, went to local upholstery shop, picked the fabric, and ordered 6” thick mattresses.

I can’t think of a super easy solution.. I use a twin latex foam about 5 inches thick atop the regular cushions. Moving it is a pain- usually dump it out the back doors.

I understand what you are wishing for..

Thanks! I have finally figured it out. I have someone coming to fix the frame and I am ordering two 26x54 upholstered foam pieces and two 13x54 as the backing for the couches. Then a couple of supports we can put in and put the two backing pieces in the middle of the two 26x54's so we have a bed that is 54x78 and easily converts to couches.

Well Done! Pics are always appreciated.
They are worth 1000 words each!
And, give others inspiration.

Cheers Jim
