Default Name of your B

What do you call your B? Our 2006 Roadtrek was named Trekkie. Our 2013 Great West was named Scout. We now have a 2022 Grech Strada and have not settled on a Name.

Every Advanced RV has a personal name of the owner's choice. That's how they track them in their builds. Mine were Alvar, for the Finnish architect, Alvar Aalto based on the curvilinear cabinet forms emulating his building designs and Mies, for the architect, Mies van der Rohe, for his famous quote, "Less is more" in custom designing a 5 foot shorter Sprinter with a bigger bathroom and more storage. That's how I came up with those names, being an architect.

My daughter asked, well Dad, how is your Van’s conversion going. Well, let’s go to see it – here it is - voilà so so we named it "Voilà"

Good idea--we never thought about it. At the moment we call it "the van." To be honest, the first thing that comes to mind is based on the best Christmas movie of all time . . . we could call it "Cousin Eddie."

Maybe a Minnesota thing, ours has been "the van" for 14 years just like our cars are "the Honda" and "the Buick".

I can attest that it isn't just a "Minnesota thing".

Default the "Van"

We have had multiple Chevy window vans over the years (decades) to support our hiking, camping, traveling. They were all lovingly known as "The Van". Then a couple of years ago we brought the 2018 Hymer Sunlight2 home. For a while it was also called "The Van". That quickly changed to "The New Van" (which wasn't too good either). I finally started calling the Sunlight2 the "Suntu" or "Sun2". That has stuck.

We still have the newest (2021) Chevy van. It has now finally been renamed "The Express". It is sad because it lo longer goes camping... But it still hauls our kayaks around. ---KenA

Madeline; our 1998 Roadtrek D190P previously resided on Madeline Island (Northern WI. Lake Superior). It came with a Madeline Island bumper sticker, and it just kind'a stuck.
