Default Midwest Auto Designs

Midwest Auto Designs had a couple of units at the Minneapolis show yesterday, from Lake Regions RV. Rep was also there.

Lake Regions has had the line for a while, but we never looked at them when there. They are very pricey, in the $150K range, and look to be mostly designed as people mover, golf outing, party bus, type applications. One of the units did have a more conventional B layout with kitchen and shower. Of course the bathroom was on the "wrong side" being on the passenger side, but we like that.

The are big into the electronics, and have all the latest in that stuff. Control switches for all the lights, etc are duplicated just about wherever you are in the van. The ones we saw were a bit dark inside.

The interior fit, finish, and quality of material was as better than most anything we have ever seen. It was very impressive workmanship. Not our choice of style, but we still went back for a second look because it was so well done.

They are looking at all the now available appliances, including 12v split system AC run off an engine generator.

Quality-wise, they are probably the ones who could match ARV or most anyone else, base on what we saw. It will be interested if the drift more into the high class B area, as it would put them in the same market as ARV.

No worries Stan. I use the URL tags a lot but you don't have to on this forum. Just copy and paste the link from your browser and it will work.

For internal links to other topics on this forum I use the URL tags to make it look like a normal link.

Booster - did you notice if the spare was mounted on the rear door?
I spotted that in a video taken at the Tampa show.

Fuzzy memories of too many things looked at during the show. I think one of the MAD vans had a tire in the rear, but can't say if it was on the door or not

I think this is one of them that was there.

It does appear to have the tire on the door.

Strange, they don't have that floorplan on their website.

We have formed a Midwest Automotive Designs (MAD) Owners Class B Group. It is just starting. There are only about 6000 units out there, so it is hard to find others who have one to share specific model/manufacturer info. It you would like to join, please join on FaceBook. The link is below.
