Message software need? or ad, spam

Anybody else get a envelope type message notification in the side panel of the screen indicating a message? Veiw new message even though I have none. Who is "Inbox now". It then says you need to download some software to see your messages, or some other comment. Looks like not a good thing, and have never seen anything like this on the site before.

If they don't belong here, maybe Marko can make them magically vanish

Probably an ad. Forum private messages would show up on the left side of the page just below the top.



There are ads on the right side of the page.



Everyone will see different ads. They're served up by Google. I'd have to see the ad to catch the URL to block it.

This link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads has settings to help control the types of Google ads you see on all web sites, not just this site.

Thanks, markopolo, I learned something new today. And I filtered down the kinds of ad Google will send me.

Hmm, I went to the Google site and it listed me with a gmail name I forgot I had. That's learning something.
