Mercedes "Preferred Upfiters" List

On the Mercedes Sprinter site, they have a list of "preferred upfiters" that customize vans. It has most but not all of the big RV manufacturers. Does anybody know how Mercedes determines who is "preferred" and who isn't?

I assume they have to submit plans ans get MB approval

The only missing major upfitters are Pleasure-way Industries and Great West Vans that market in the United States, but then again they were Canadian companies and it looks as if no Canadian companies were listed other than Triple E (LTV) and RoadTrek because they were listed with addresses in the United States. So, I would say it is just a technicality as to the list.

I don't know why, but I assumed that the map covered all of Canada and the US. I managed to find the Canadian Sprinter site and it also lists Pleasure-Way, Roadtrek and Triple E (Leisure Travel Vans). Absent from either list is Great West Vans and it hasn't appeared in the year that I've been watching that list. Guesses as to why?

I don't know why Great West Vans might not be listed. Could it be under the umbrella of the Sterling Group, the company that bought it? I'm not too concerned about it. They make an excellent B and do nothing I can see that would make MB unhappy in regard to what they do with the van. I also know from seeing the stickers Mercedes Benz was shipping to them.

It could very well be related to the company moving to Alabama and the uncertainties of that kind of business disruption.
